iPhone Tip: Increase battery life...
Spotlight is really useful for quickly surfacing data on your phone. In order to do that, however, the tool needs to constantly survey your phone for new data and index it.
To temper the effects on your battery, go to Settings > General >Spotlight and uncheck the items you don't necessarily need indexed.

What is using up all my data?!

iPhone Tip: Be more frugal with data...
If you're watching your data usage, it's a good idea to use a feature introduced in iOS 7: cellular data management.
With this tool, you can decide which apps get to use cellular data, and which apps can load only over Wi-Fi.
Head over to Settings > Cellular to disable cellular data usage for any installed apps.

Earbud controls!

Earbud controls!

iPhone Tip: Earbud controls...
It's never too late to discover that those boring, all-white headphones Apple threw in with your iPhone can do a lot more than adjust the volume.
In fact, any headphones that include a remote (or have a remote adapter attached) can be used to control your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch in up to 10 ways.
Here are some ways to use your headphones as a remote controller, allowing you to perform useful functions without taking your iDevice out of your pocket...

iPhone Tip: Quickly 'go back'...
The iPhone doesn't have a dedicated "back" button but, a little-known gesture makes that completely possible.
In Messages, Mail, and even Safari, simply swipe right from the edge of the screen to go to the previous window. The gesture even works in some third-party apps like Instagram.

No Siri, that is not how you pronounce it!

No Siri, that is not how you pronounce it!

iPhone Tip: Teach Siri correct pronunciations...
For the lognest time, Siri called me "Keith Said-or." Annoying!
If Siri misprounces your name -- or anyone else's -- there's an easy way to correct that.
At any point just say, "That's not how you pronounce [name]" and Siri will take you through a process of correcting it.

iPhone Tip: Correct Siri's mistakes...
Siri doesn't always get it. Sometimes it's ambient noise, and other times, it's a mystery.
To correct her, swipe down to reveal your initial command, and use the "Tap to edit" option to make a correction. When you're done, Siri will come up with a new answer, and she'll better understand you in the future.

Faster Touch ID recognition...

Faster Touch ID recognition...

iPhone Tip: Faster Touch ID recognition...
Touch ID seems to have a beef with certain fingers, consistently requiring multiple scans before unlocking the device.
If this sounds familiar, try this: Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Here, enroll the same finger two to three times by choosing Add a fingerprint.
Doing so will give Touch ID more information about your finger patterns, resulting in a faster scan.

Protect your privacy.

Protect your privacy.

iPhone Tip: Protect your privacy...
This tip will save your battery life and your privacy. Far, far into iOS's privacy settings is a setting that, when enabled, sends Apple your location data.
Some people don't care. If you do -- and you want a battery boost while you're at it -- disable the feature. Go to Settings > Privacy > System Services to toggle the option.

Back to the future?

Back to the future?

iPhone Tip: Did you know that, in some cases, you don't have to click on your home button and re-click that app to get back in?
If you are deep in the app game and have an article opened from your Facebook, an external site you opened from Twitter, or photos opened from your camera, this features offers a way to get back to the original app with a line in the upper left hand column. In this case, it says "Back to Camera."

There's more than one way...

iPhone Tip: If you want to go back to your album, just swipe a photo down instead of hitting the back button. The actions probably take the same amount of time but its nice to know there is more than one way to do something.
